The Augustana University Men’s Hockey Team has its first-ever head coach. Garrett Raboin, assistant coach for the University of Minnesota of the Big Ten Conference, has been selected to be the inaugural head coach of the Viking Hockey program — set to take the ice in the 2023-24 academic year.

Augustana is proud to announce the launch of its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program in the fall of 2022, with an emphasis in two areas — adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AG-ACNP) and adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist (AG-CNS). Beginning in the summer of 2023, the university will also offer two post-master’s certificate options, including AG-ACNP and AG-CNS.

In October 2021, Augustana University announced that it will be home to the Viking Men’s Hockey program — set to take the ice in the fall of 2023. Amber (Olinger) ‘05 and Rory Kelly are generous supporters of the head coach’s office inside Midco Arena.

The AU community will gather on April 28-30 to celebrate the Augustana Choir’s 100th anniversary. The celebration will showcase the choir’s past, present and future of sacred music and rich traditions.

Augustana University’s Alumni Association is proud to announce that it will be hosting a panel discussion on Monday, May 2, in Hamre Recital Hall (located in the Fryxell Humanities Center) featuring several former Supreme Court Justices of South Dakota and Minnesota in honor of the late professor emeritus Dr. Peter Schotten. The panel will discuss “The challenges of the judiciary in a polarized world.”

Five Augustana University students received a 2022 Covenant Award in a ceremony held in the Chapel of Reconciliation on Wednesday, April 27. The Covenant Awards lift up those who exemplify Augustana’s core values: Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community and Service.
