Aging Studies; Gender Studies; Children & Youth

  • Aging Studies — Experiential/service learning with community elders and organizations that serve them is an active dimension of the Aging Studies (formerly known as gerontology) coursework.
  • Gender Studies — Through the minor in gender studies, students learn to analyze the ways in which notions of gender, race, class, and sexuality shape the world, and the ways in which the world, in turn, shapes these notions.
  • Children & Youth  This emphasis better prepares students for careers working with youth and children in the context of family, schools, and community.
